Now that I’m not competing on the NASKA circuit for the rest of the year, I’m actually finding it harder to motivate myself to train at the same level as before. Maybe this is an indication that I have to keep competing in martial arts in order to keep training at the same intensive levels as before.

I’m off the NASKA circuit for the year and recharging my batteries. I will probably just do the odd local karate tournament for the fall and won’t plan to go back to any national circuit until after New Year. I’m just taking it easier these days but will resume serious training again soon. I also plan to reshoot both of my weapons videos as I have received enough good feedback to be able to improve on my forms.

Looks like the NBL Supergrands karate event will once again be held during the week between Christmas and New Year. This year will be in Buffalo, New York. This is one of the worse times to have a karate tournament when most people would rather be with family and friends during the holiday season. I can understand the frustration of many NBL competitors especially those from the south. Who wants to go to freeze their butts off in Buffalo during that time, especially away from family and friends?
