Another season ends for the NASKA (North American Sport Karate Association) circuit. I stopped competing in the summer. It was generally agreed that there were too many events on the world circuit this year and to make things worse, it looks like there might be even more next year with the addition of Chicago’s AKA tournament at the end of January. I think there are 14 events which all will count towards world titles. This is just too many and will be cost prohibitive for many karate competitors. I’m personally not that keen on competing in the NASKA circuit anymore as I already have my sights on the WOMAA world event in Ireland for April. It should be interesting to see how the continuing expansions of the NASKA circuit will affect competition next year.
