Even though I competed in five different events at the recent WOMAA event in Ireland, for the WKA event in Orlando later in November, I will be competing in only Chinese forms. So this means that I will have over two months to prepare for one event. It should give me lots of time to rework the Chinese form, which is presently my strongest martial arts empty hand form.

Will Compete In Only Chinese Forms At WKA
Thursday, August 28th, 2008Too Much Emphasis On Sport In Olympic Tae Kwon Do
Sunday, August 24th, 2008With the incident of such poor sportsmanship at the Bejing Olympics when the Cuban fighter kicked the Swedish referee in the face after being disqualified, I feel that this is proof that in many cases, there is too much emphasis on the sport aspect of Olympic tae kwon do. The martial arts respect aspect is completely missing in the case of this Cuban fighter. Normally, such behaviour is totally unacceptable in the martial arts circle. Not only does this particular fighter deserve to be banned from competition for life, he does not deserve to wear a black belt around his waist.
Martial Arts Break
Friday, August 22nd, 2008I took about a week of martial arts break after the WOMAA championships last weekend by sightseeing Berlin. Once I get back to Canada, I will start to improve my Chinese form right away to get a huge jump start for the WKA event in November.
Diamond Ring Won As Martial Arts Grand Championship
Wednesday, August 20th, 2008In addition to the five gold medals I won at the WOMAA event in Ireland this past weekend, I also took the Black Belt Weapons Grand Championships which the organizers presented me with a diamond encrusted ring. I hope to get a decent photo of it when I get home to Canada later this weekend so I could post online. Right now, I’m recovering my sore body in Berlin for a few days before I fly back.
Repeat of Five Gold Medals at Martial Arts World Championships
Sunday, August 17th, 2008I’m here in Ireland and just finished competing in the WOMAA World Championships. I was able to repeat last year’s record with five gold medals this past weekend. So I’m pleased with my performance although there was some complications. My luggage containing all my weapons didn’t arrive so I had to borrow bo staffs from other competitors all weekend. The USA team graciously lent me their bo weapons even though they were short ones since all their bo competitors were kids. But things worked out okay. I just hope that I will be able to get my own weapons back. They were lost at Heathrow airport although I think they didn’t have any excuse since they did have 6 hours during my layover.
Flying Out To Ireland For WOMAA Martial Arts Event
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008Trying To Buy Martial Arts T-Shirts With Bad Credit Cards
Monday, August 11th, 2008We have had a few instances where people tried to buy our martial arts t-shirts with bad credit cards. Of course, we will catch this on our end since the credit cards will be declined by our bank. So don’t even try.
Final Training For Martial Arts Championships
Thursday, August 7th, 2008I had my last weight training session yesterday until my martial arts championships late next week. Usually, I stop all weight training about one to one and a half weeks before each competition in order to focus just on my martial arts forms. All types of cross training is discontinued until after the competition is over.
