Do You Get Bored When MMA Fighters Hit The Ground?
Monday, January 18th, 2010Okay, as a long time martial artist (36 plus years and counting) who saw the developments of full contact karate, kickboxing, Olympic taekwondo and now MMA or mixed martial arts fighting, I must say that the evolution was interesting. However, I also have to admit that as a spectator, once MMA fighters hit the ground in grappling mode, I get bored watching. I like the action when they are standing up but once a takedown happens, I start to tune out. Is this just me? Do all long time martial artists feel this way when we are spectators?
What’s your take on this when MMA fighters hit the ground? Feel free to leave comments (but no spamming please since they will be moderated).

Very Interesting Taekwondo Controversial Past History
Monday, January 11th, 2010Here’s a very interesting article about the controversial past history of modern taekwondo surrounding the WTF, ITF, General Choi Hong Hi and the Olympic games. I never knew things were that bad as I shook my head when reading this article. It’s incredible how political and even criminal things can get unfortunately with martial arts. It’s a good read and I’m sure that you will be amazed at the past history of modern taekwondo was well.
Comments are of course invited (but moderated).

Martial Arts Karate World Champion On Twitter
Thursday, January 7th, 2010I’m relatively new on Twitter but there seems to be a lot of activity there. I’m getting a lot of new followers. Don’t ask me where they are coming from because I don’t know. But the policy I’ll take is if anybody follows Clint Cora on Twitter, I’ll be more than happy to follow them back! Nothing wrong with making new fellow martial arts Twitter friends.
Different Martial Arts Styles From LinkedIn Connections
Monday, January 4th, 2010I’ve been making lots of new connections worldwide on LinkedIn lately and a few of them happen to be martial artists. It’s always great to connect with different martial arts people around the world, especially those who train with different styles.
Some of these new connections do martial arts styles that are not as common as say tae kwon do or Shotokan karate. So I invited them to write an article about their style and submit it to me. I will gladly put it up at the Martial Arts Styles section of my martial arts articles website. The same invitation goes out to everyone else.
By the way, if you would like to connect with me on LinkedIn, feel free to do so as I gladly accept all connection invitations there. It would be nice to have a few more martial artists there. Just go to my Clint Cora LinkedIn profile.
